Bring your passion for food and join our team as a Cook! You'll play a vital role in the preparation, presentation, and cooking of our high-quality dishes, delighting our guests with your culinary expertise. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Adhering to local health and safety codes and regulations applicable to the hotel.
  • Ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked at all times.
  • Receiving and processing food and beverage orders as needed.
  • Following provided brand and IHM recipes for accurate and consistent food preparation.
  • Preparing and plating all menu items to the highest standards.
  • Using various hot food preparation equipment (ovens, stoves, microwaves) for efficient food cooking and reheating.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing tables, countertops, and floors after each service.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to adhere to brand and IHM standard operating procedures for food and beverage preparation.
  • Strong initiative and a desire for achievement, demonstrating effectiveness in a team environment.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues within the workplace.
  • Strong ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage equipment operation.

Physical Demands:

  • This position requires frequent standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.
  • Regular lifting and/or moving of items up to 10 pounds and frequent lifting and/or moving of items up to 25 pounds.
  • Work hours are variable, based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of hours per week.
