As an Executive Sous Chef with Levy, you will support culinary operations for NYRA's horse racing facilities in New York, working under the direction of the Director of Operations. You will assist in overseeing the culinary departmental units including hourly culinary supervisors, cooks, and more.

Your primary responsibilities will include executing cuisine that exceeds guest expectations, providing strong leadership, delivering cost goals, and living our Company vision and values. You will maintain recipes to meet core standards, ensure that all safety and sanitation standards are met, and ensure show quality food and presentations are maintained. We seek a creative problem-solver who brings passion, enthusiasm, and fresh ideas, with the ability to work independently and manage both up and down.

In this role, you will:

  • Execute menus in accordance with brand standards.
  • Maintain recipes to meet core standards.
  • Ensure team members consistently deliver heartfelt hospitality to every guest.
  • Provide team members with the tools necessary to complete their jobs.
  • Regularly obtain feedback from clients and guests to improve operations.
  • Support and communicate Levy initiatives.
  • Assist in any departmental guest service issues.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs in culinary areas for each event.
  • Forecast and adequately schedule team members to meet operational needs.
  • Mentor Sous Chefs to improve their skills and leadership abilities.
