Responsibilities:
- Supervise the production process to ensure all pasta dishes meet meal specifications and quality standards.
- Oversee the preparation of fresh, high-quality pasta dishes served to hundreds of airline guests daily.
- Manage supply-chain systems to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and maintain freshness.
- Coordinate the timing of food production to ensure smooth operations and avoid delays.
- Monitor the cooking process to maintain efficiency and adherence to schedules.
- Analyze waste trends and recommend improvements to enhance sustainability.
- Efficiently complete tasks across multiple cooking stations within designated timelines to meet strict deadlines.
- Expertly prepare, cook, and present a variety of pasta dishes, ensuring they meet high culinary standards.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations as outlined in the food safety management system handbook.
- Promptly report any issues related to food safety to management and the hygiene team.
- Keep your immediate work area clean and organized at all times, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong understanding of pasta preparation techniques, including dough-making, cooking methods, and sauce pairing.
- A degree or certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or a related field is desirable.
- Proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment, such as pasta machines, mixers, and ovens.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- High standards for quality and presentation of dishes, with a keen eye for detail in food preparation.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and management.
- Flexibility in availability for different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
