DoubleTree by Hilton Greensboro Airport is looking for a top-performing Hotel Cook. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Hotel Lead Cook to join our dynamic culinary team in the hospitality industry. Some key areas of responsibility for the Hotel Lead Cook include:

  • Oversee and guide Cooks in their job responsibilities.
  • Responsible for preparation of all food items that are needed, as well as a complete understanding of all relative stations.
  • Assist in daily inventory of products and the requisitions of same to see that shortages do not occur.
  • Assist and monitor the preparation of items served.
  • Use and store all food per rotation regulations: First-In-First-Out, and follow regulated expiration dates, date all items before use/storage.
  • Responsible for training and re-training of all kitchen personnel. Communicate and update to keep co-workers informed.
  • Comply with regulatory departments and departmental and property policies and procedures, including SNHD, OSHA, Fire Department, etc.
  • Train in all areas of kitchens, including food prep, stock, and dishwasher.
  • Responsible for cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of immediate workspace and adjacent areas.
  • Able to keep good notes on the production levels of cooks and daily observations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements for the Hotel Lead Cook include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; GED; culinary arts degree from an accredited school preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  • Capable of following procedures and taking direction.
  • Ability to read recipes, production lists, and any other necessary collateral paperwork, such as diagrams and logs, to be able to perform essential duties.
  • Must have good basic organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be an exemplary team member and display the ability to work well with others.
  • Must be reliable, pleasant, and possess a good attitude.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
  • Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Eye/hand coordination.
  • Use of standard kitchen equipment.

Applicants must be able to work weekends & holidays.
