About ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital

ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.

This position is responsible for the preparation, assembly and serving of food products to customers. Food preparation will include, but will not be limited to: meats, vegetables, soups, bakery, desserts, appetizers, for patient, retail and catering areas. Will serve as a specialty cook preparing specialty food according to standardized recipes and specific methods applicable to type of cookery to create high quality products. Will also perform short order/grill cooking duties in preparing food items to be served to customers, per customer specifications.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be able to read, write and speak English (Bilingual in Spanish is preferred).
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Specific physical characteristics and abilities required: agility, dexterity and long periods of walking (up to 6 hours), standing, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
