Job Description

Serves as a Cook Supervisor, exercising specific supervisory responsibility over work operations to include supervising workers in the accomplishment of work by assigning and distributing tasks, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews, and signing timecards. Responsible for food preparation, assigned personnel, inventory, food cost control, menu planning, requisitioning, training, directing, and assisting cooks, as well as preparing special dishes as required and general supervision of all food-related activities.

The work environment is often uncomfortably warm and noisy, with exposure to minor cuts, bruises, burns, and scalds, and a possibility of slipping on wet floors. There is exposure to extreme temperatures of hot kitchens. The position requires light to moderate physical effort, such as frequently lifting or moving objects, constant standing and walking, and the ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
