The Director of Culinary Services/Executive Chef is tasked with enriching lives through the power of amazing, made-from-scratch food. This role is responsible for ensuring that every meal is aesthetically pleasing and nutritionally sound, utilizing the freshest ingredients available. The Director will collaborate with other department heads to create special themed events and oversee all food and beverage operations within the communities. This includes placing orders, vendor management, compliance with State and Federal regulations, scheduling, training, and assisting with employee development and disciplinary procedures.

Duties And Responsibilities: This position oversees hiring, training, and managing all associates in the kitchen, dining areas, and catering services. The Director effectively motivates and evaluates all associates while ensuring adequate staffing levels. Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with kitchen and restaurant staff to provide a hospitable dining experience.
• Developing and maintaining nutritious menus based on resident preferences.
• Managing food and supply budgets and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Improving the décor and ambiance of dining areas.
• Ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Additional Job Functions: The Director works collaboratively with the Executive Director and other department heads to foster a positive atmosphere. Responsibilities include:

• Delivering exceptional customer service to residents and visitors.
• Participating in the community's sales and marketing efforts.
• Completing departmental reports accurately and timely.
• Participating in company-hosted meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications: A culinary degree is preferred, though 10+ years of Chef experience will be considered. Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in food production and management, including supervisory roles. Knowledge of food safety regulations and a valid driver's license with a clean record are required.

Working Conditions: This position works in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, and slippery conditions. Compliance with food safety regulations is mandatory, including wearing appropriate protective gear.

• Culinary Degree preferred or 10+ years of Chef experience.
