Job Description

We are looking for a candidate to train, supervise, and work with all kitchen staff to prepare, cook, and present food according to hotel standard recipes, creating quality food products.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assign specific duties to associates for efficient operation of the kitchen.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with personnel functions, including interviewing, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff in the proper preparation of menu items.
  • Schedule culinary staff to maintain proper coverage while managing payroll costs.
  • Communicate clearly with staff both verbally and in writing.
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products to comply with health department regulations.
  • Adhere to control procedures for cost and quality.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Abilities Required:

  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Ability to communicate well with guests and be a team player.
  • Thorough knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and proper preparation.
  • Ability to apply basic supervisory skills to plan, organize, direct, coach, train, and discipline employees.
  • Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery.
  • Ability to lift and carry a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
