We are looking for candidates who have a passion for helping at-risk youth. This position is located at Cabarrus Youth Development Center in Concord (Cabarrus County), NC.

This position will assist the Food Service Supervisor, provide support for the facility’s Child Nutrition Program, and ensure compliance with the Department’s Federal Child Nutrition Program regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing nutritionally adequate meals that meet the federal Child Nutrition Program meal patterns.
• Maintaining required records, reports, and inventories in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Requisitioning food and supplies as needed.
• Maintaining high standards of personal cleanliness as well as food sanitation.
• Interpreting and following standard recipes and prescribed menus along with specific oral and written instructions.
• Checking the cost and quality of items received and ensuring proper storage.
• Complying with policies and procedures of the Department.
• Assuming additional responsibilities as designated by the Youth Development Center Food Service Supervisor II, facility business officer, facility director, Child Nutrition Program Administrator, and Child Nutrition Program Administrative Officer.

Work Schedule: Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday; however, candidates must be able to work on-call hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis and be able to work a variable work schedule to meet the needs of juveniles and their families.
