Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the entire food service program of your assigned College Fresh account, reflecting our vision of fresh, made-from-scratch food and outstanding customer service.
  • Order, stock, prepare, and serve food to residents at your assigned location.
  • Prepare all menu items, maintaining the kitchen and food service areas according to public health guidelines and the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and submit weekly menus to the designated menu-sharing system in advance of each week.
  • Manage your assigned food service budget, organize, and submit invoices as directed.
  • Maintain complete and organized records of all company VISA card purchases using the company expense tracking system.
  • Receive and stock all supplies and adhere to all management, client, state, and local cleanliness and sanitation regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing client needs, requests, and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist the Regional Manager with subordinate staff hiring and training, as needed.
  • Prepare special event meals (recruitment, homecoming, Dads Day, Moms Day, etc.), as required.
  • Perform routine kitchen tasks (dishwashing, mopping, garbage removal), as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or agreed upon with the Regional Manager.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a kitchen environment with equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chef's knives. Employees will be frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

Physical Requirements

The job requires occasional sitting, standing, reaching, lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling items weighing 30 pounds or less. Extended periods of standing are also required. The ability to follow both written and oral instructions and procedures is essential.

Qualifications

  • Culinary Arts degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of catering experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, kitchen management, menu planning, organization, and leadership.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current ServSafe Food Protection Manager certificate or equivalent, from a nationally recognized or approved certification program.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to maintain proof of individual auto insurance as required by company safe driver policy.
  • Must adhere to policies and procedures set forth in the College Fresh employee handbook.
