Job Description

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring for Culinary Interns to join our team at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a Culinary Intern, you will prepare food at Great American Ballpark and learn about the importance of wellness and nutrition when creating and cooking recipes. Summer internship dates typically span 10-14 weeks between: May and August. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience and make an impact in a global company.

Pay: $16.00 – $16.00 / hour

What will you do?

  • Prepare food to recipe specifications in a timely manner.
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed.
  • Keep workstation and cooking equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Make sure food temperatures are maintained and food is stored properly.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and follow all health code and sanitation regulations.
  • Work in one of multiple fine dining clubs, preparing steaks to order, rolling sushi, braising meats, and making food from scratch.

More about you:

  • High school diploma; enrolled in a program.
  • Ability to work with trained chefs who know how to write prep lists and teach recipes in an organized environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes.
  • Basic math skills with ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry large pans, weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, whip, etc. a variety of foods and liquids.
  • Standing and walking for the entire length of shift.
