Job Description

SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Oklahoma City is seeking a Cook on a per diem/as needed basis. You will deliver superior quality in all that you do and treat others as they wish to be treated. As a results-oriented team player, you will be resourceful in overcoming obstacles and an inventive problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing foods for patients, staff, and guests.
  • Assisting with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas.
  • Supervising dietary staff in the absence of the Manager.
  • Ensuring adherence to facility and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Following proper sanitation, safety, and infection control policies.
  • Providing high-quality food preparation and service.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment to meet department standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality food production and portion control.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to help with necessary work.
  • Taking initiative to identify problems and bring about positive solutions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of cooking experience required.

Preferred Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary Arts degree.
  • Completion of state or local food safety training course.
  • Healthcare experience.
