Cafe Shift Lead

Grand Central Bakery, a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving high-quality, sustainable, and delicious food, is seeking a talented Cafe Shift Lead to join our team at our beautiful Hillsboro Cafe. This role is a vital part of our enthusiastic team, responsible for creating a wonderful customer experience in our vibrant cafe. We are looking for someone who is passionate about serving delicious food and drink to our loyal customers.

The successful candidate will be expected to work efficiently and effectively at any station, including the sandwich bar during peak hours, assist with baking one day per week, and frequently serve as the Person In Charge (PIC).

Location: Hillsboro Cafe, 118 SE. 2nd Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97123

Rate of Pay: $17.23 per hour plus tips. Estimated average tip range: $6.00 - $7.00 per hour.

Schedule: Part-time; 24 hours or less per week. Schedule flexibility and weekend/holiday availability are required.

• Qualifications:
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Basic math skills
• Valid food handler's card (required)
• Experience with point-of-sale systems is preferred
• 1+ year of experience in food service is preferred
• Professionalism and positive customer interaction essential

• Physical Requirements:
• Standing for the duration of the shift
• Working in a loud, frequently interrupted environment
• Lifting and carrying items up to 20 lbs
• Working in a bakery environment, constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat).
