Cook (Residential Care Facility)

Rivera Mansions LLC, a leading provider of specialized senior-living care in Oregon, seeks a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents through delicious and nutritious meals.

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals to our residents. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively with direct care staff, management, and our senior residents. You will work under the direction of our Management and Registered Dietitian.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious, and appealing meals to our 33+ senior residents.
  • Prepare and assist with the development of menus and special meals to meet individual resident needs, as well as for special meetings and company events.
  • Adhere to all Federal and State health standards and codes for food storage, handling, and preparation.
  • Prepare food and meals according to planned menus, diet plans, portion control, and sanitary procedures, meeting health department standards and company policies.
  • Check and record food temperatures prior to serving and ensure meals are palatable and appealing.
  • Ensure availability of food and supplies for the next meal, retrieving items from the freezer as needed.
  • Notify the Facility Administrator of needed supplies on a weekly basis.
  • Execute inventory counts and storage of incoming foods and supplies as directed by the Facility Administrator.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including cleaning spills and pots regularly, and complete daily and scheduled cleaning duties.
  • Attend and actively participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Schedule

This Full-time, Hourly/non-exempt position offers a Swing Shift schedule (3 PM - 11 PM) on Saturday through Tuesday. Hours may vary based on workload, management needs, and resident needs. Must be available for on-call duties, including inclement weather, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Day Shift: 7 AM - 3 PM, Monday - Friday

Swing Shift: 3 PM - 11 PM, Sunday - Tuesday
