Job Overview:

Prepares and cooks a wide variety of food, based on government policy and recipes, served both hot or cold, handle and store food in a clean and sanitary environment, in accordance with all applicable food safety laws and regulations.

This temporary position has varying shift hours.

Pay for position: $18.84 / hour plus an additional $4.57 / hour cashed out fringe in lieu of benefits. Retirement Plan – Eligible to participate in company 401(k) – No company match. Paid Time off or Vacation – N/A Based on length of contract being under 1 year. Sick Time – Accrued sick time at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, capped at 56 hours per year. Paid Holidays – 11 paid holidays per year.

Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities:

• Controls and manages the stock levels of food and supplies.
• Prepares and cooks items that require complex techniques and/or multiple preparation steps, and specialty sauces, soups, stocks etc. from scratch without the use of packaged mixes.
• Roasts, broils, bakes, fries, boils, steams, and stews meats, fish, and poultry.
• Slices, grinds, and cuts food items.
• Prepares fresh fruits and vegetables for cooking.
• Cooks food in large quantities and adjusts recipes and quantities needed on fluctuating servings required.
• Plans the cooking process to complete meals.
• Maintains proper temperatures as required by standard food safety limits and properly presents food in an appetizing manner.
• Operates, cleans, and maintains standard kitchen equipment.
• Reviews food handling and sanitation requirements and directives to ensure proper procedures are followed by kitchen staff.
• Cleans and stores utensils, pots and pans and any other cooking tool and equipment.
• Promotes standards of conduct which are expected and accepted in the workplace, and participates in the BMS as necessary to ensure proper workplace appearance, professionalism, and behavior.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Mandatory:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Training in food preparation and 4-years related experience.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s certificate within 30 days of employment.
• Successfully pass any background check and/or drug test required on the contract.
• Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
