Job Description

Frontier Senior Living is seeking an outstanding Executive Chef to join our Bayside Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care community in Coos Bay, Oregon. A proven track record of success in a similar leadership role is essential.

The Executive Chef is directly responsible for upholding high standards of quality, conduct, customer service, and productivity within the Food Services Department. This includes maintaining appropriate staffing levels, food/supplies inventory, and adherence to established budget guidelines. The Executive Chef plays a crucial role in ensuring the Food Services Department contributes positively to the quality of life for our residents and prospective residents.

Responsibilities

  • Innovating, planning, promoting, and supervising a food service program that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards, including specialized diets for residents with specific needs.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, disciplining, and supervising a complete staff complement.
  • Establishing, documenting, directing, and assisting in general kitchen and dining room sanitation procedures, creating and posting schedules for all shifts.
  • Adhering to all state, local, and federal rules, regulations, and licensing requirements related to health, safety (OSHA), and the general operation of the Food Services Department.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Four or more years of supervisory experience in food service, or equivalent.
  • Formal training or on-the-job training in appropriate techniques of resident care, including nutritional monitoring and assessment, general nutrition, food production and service, sanitation, safety, and management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; English language proficiency sufficient for communicating with residents and staff, and understanding written and verbal instructions.
  • Chef certification preferred
  • Compassion for elderly residents.
  • Self-motivation.
