Job Description

Please note: this position is part time, 40 hours biweekly. Shifts are varying; weekend and holiday work is required.

We are looking for a second cook who will competently prepare select foods for patients, staff, and visitors that are of the highest quality, pleasing to the eye as well as palate.

Primary Responsibilities: Assembles ingredients and prepares recipe; portion, label and date for storage or transport. Professionally braise, sauté, broil, boil, stew, steam, bake, and grill to proper cooking time and temperature; safely hold food at all times. Exercises knowledge and judgment with respect to cooking times and temperatures to ensure the quality and safety of items produced. Operate appropriate cooking equipment. Regular, punctual attendance. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

Conditions of Employment: Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated, you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to the hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
