Job Description

KIRA Aviation Services is seeking a Cook II for the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, located in Fairfield, PA.

The primary purpose of the position is to independently prepare in large quantities, by various methods of cooking, meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, and to season and cook all cuts of various meats, fish, and poultry. Responsibilities include:

  • Boiling, steaming, or frying vegetables.
  • Making gravies, soups, sauces, roasts, meat pies, fricassees, casseroles, and stews.
  • Participating in Hot and Cold Food Production and ensuring adherence to Food Production and Sanitation Standards.
  • Planning a monthly menu to ensure variety for the three meals provided daily.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining facility (DFAC).
  • Preparing and submitting all deliverables to the Lead, Food Service Manager, and Program Manager.
  • Cleaning equipment and maintaining sanitation standards.
  • Exhibiting good customer relation skills and greeting guests in a friendly manner.
  • Performing all assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.

To meet contractual requirements, employees may be required to stay onsite for exercises or real-world events (e.g., 24-hour lockdown). Must be able to start as early as 5:30 am, Monday through Friday.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Successful completion of Food Service Medical Clearance.
  • Possession or ability to obtain ServSafe certification.
  • Ability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety and standard safety practices.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must pass a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.

  • Knowledge of Military (Tri-Service Food Code/TB Med 530) regulations and policies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

  • Ability to prepare food compliant with DoD 1338.10-M.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks in a commercial kitchen.
