Food Service Associate - YNHHS

This role is responsible for providing nutritious meals to patients, staff, and visitors using standardized recipes. The position ensures that all food is properly cooked and maintained at acceptable temperatures, adhering to Department of Health regulations. The incumbent may be assigned any duty that falls within the responsibility of the Food and Nutrition department.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Ensures proper use of recipes, training, and monitoring.
    • Maintains effective working relationships with staff.
    • Creates and maintains a safe work environment, including maintaining proper food temperature.
    • Maintains a high level of hospital service standards.
    • Facilitates a team approach by assisting others within the department.
  • Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Two years of experience in a healthcare institution is preferred.
    • Food safety certification is required.
    • Must be able to read and write English.
    • Must use standardized recipes to properly cook all foods to desired temperatures according to Department of Health guidelines.
    • Must know how to operate all kitchen equipment and have strong organizational skills.
    • Must lead by example.
