The Residences at Greer, a division of Medical Services of America, Inc., currently seeks an experienced Full-Time Cook for our residents in Greer, SC.

As a member of the facility's management team, the Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, attractive meals. The Cook maintains cleanliness of the food production and service areas.

The Cook adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and serving meals as indicated and planned menus, using standardized portion sizes and approved substitutions.
• Ensuring that meals are served at scheduled times, planning and organizing food preparation tasks appropriately.
• Preparing meals for modified or therapeutic diets according to physician orders and modified menus.
• Supervising Kitchen Assistants in the absence of the Food Service Director; reporting any problems or concerns to the Food Service Director or Executive Director.
• Responsible for clean-up duties as needed after each meal service.
• Following cleaning schedules and sanitation checklists to ensure kitchen and food service areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Ensuring that resident, staff, and guest meals are accounted for according to established procedures.
• Assuring that resident food preferences are met.
• Visiting with residents in the dining room to assure resident satisfaction and obtain feedback.
• Observing and reporting any problems, concerns, or issues regarding the food service department to the Food Service Director or Executive Director.
• Monitoring for changes in the status of residents and reporting such observations to the Executive Director or Community Nurse.
• Reporting any abuse, suspected abuse, or alleged abuse to the appropriate agency(s).
• Performing all other duties as assigned.
