Job Description

The Sea Pines Resort is hiring and looking for a Pastry Cook in the Culinary Operation.

As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing all pastries, desserts, breads, and other bakery items from scratch while achieving high-end standards and consistency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reads menu to estimate food requirements and procures food from storage.
  • Properly measures ingredients.
  • Understands how to read and follow a standardized recipe card.
  • Demonstrates proper baking, tempering, seasoning/flavoring, and basic cooking skills.
  • Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking.
  • Observes and tests all items in the bakery during production to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Organizes and keeps up with a clean and coherently assembled cooler and storage rooms.
  • Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
  • Meets basic cake decorating skills.
  • Assists other departments when needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of two years related F&B experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
