Job Description

CCL Hospitality Group is seeking an Executive Chef to join our team. This position offers a salary of $90,000 - $95,000 and includes a $5,000 Signing Bonus along with benefits. Relocation assistance is available as this position is based in Chicago, IL.

The Executive Chef will be an inspirational and organized leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to ensure the success of daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, training, and food preparation. The role involves:

  • Leading daily culinary production in meal preparation and production.
  • Ensuring food quality and presentation comply with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Providing direction on menu development based on product availability.
  • Preparing and cooking foods of all types, either regularly or for special guests.
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and food preparation workers.

In addition, the Executive Chef will manage department controllable expenses, develop guidelines for purchasing, and analyze financial and operational information to adjust business plans and costs. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing business strategies aligned with the community's mission.
  • Controlling food costs, labor, and other expenses.
  • Overseeing food inventory and purchasing.
  • Scheduling staff based on forecasted volumes.

Ensuring exceptional customer service is also a key responsibility, which includes:

  • Creating 100% resident satisfaction by providing team members with training and resources.
  • Improving service through communication and feedback.
  • Empowering employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Responding to and handling guest problems and complaints.

Team building and management are crucial, where the Executive Chef will:

  • Lead regular team member meetings and establish goals.
  • Solicit employee feedback and review satisfaction results.
  • Provide training and tools necessary for team members to perform their duties.
  • Communicate performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback.
