As a Sous Chef, you will report to the Executive Chef and be responsible for:

  • Performing the steps of SSA EXTRA Guest Service to ensure a memorable experience for every guest and client.
  • Creating competitive quality products.
  • Supervising and participating in creating high quality products for events and food service locations.
  • Assisting in menu pricing and preparation.
  • Estimating food consumption for events and requesting necessary products.
  • Demonstrating new cooking techniques.
  • Training, coaching, counseling, and resolving problems.
  • Complying with all food safety regulations and practices.
  • Implementing and enforcing sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and/or dining areas.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Monitoring and tracking proper cooking and holding temperatures.
  • Supporting management of payroll and controllable profit within established guidelines.
  • Overseeing quality, product levels, and inventory of product.
  • Managing employees in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Incorporating sustainable resources into the culinary selections.
  • Performing specialty projects as assigned by the Executive Chef.
  • Responding to guest requests and taking action to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Upholding and demonstrating a complete understanding of company policies and procedures.
