As a Prep Cook at LOCAL Public Eatery, you will prepare all ingredients needed to create the unexpected and awe-inspiring dishes on display. Impact the overall execution by following specs and guidelines to make sure product quality and portions are hit. Support your team and help create a fun workplace where guests are left to wonder how you do it.

Duties:

• Exude professionalism, friendliness, and fun towards guests and fellow partners.
• Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, rotation, and recipe standards.
• Learn about inventory management, derive food cost, and culinary terms.
• Utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu items in accordance with LOCAL Public Eatery recipes.
• Wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, etc.
• Coordinate with other stations.
• Develop knife skills for efficiency and safety.
• Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner.
• Clean, organize, and maintain refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, prep and dry storage areas, etc. for food-safe storage and preparation.
• Complete assigned side work and closing duties to set your team up for success.
• Stock, clean, and organize line stations.
• Comply with all required food handling and workplace safety procedures.
• Follow all instructions and guidelines for the safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds.
• Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadership immediately.
• Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures.

What’s Required:

• 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen.
• The ability to connect with others; you know that teamwork means success.
• A passion for cooking; you enjoy the innovation of our menus.
• You continuously seek opportunities to grow and learn.
• Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler permits.
• Be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching; repetitive manual tasks; and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
