Job Description

We are looking for a Team Lead Food Services (Sous Chef) to join our team at Children's Health in Dallas CMC. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for one area such as Production, Retail, Patient Services, or general operations, while also being knowledgeable and supportive in all areas.

As a Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Daily management of food service production operations and employees.
  • Filling in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.
  • Ensuring recipe compliance in all production areas.
  • Resolving any production issues that arise.
  • Ordering food and sanitation supplies as needed for production operations.
  • Ongoing and initial training of staff to ensure competency.
  • Staff evaluations, conflict resolution, development, and reprimand.
  • Assisting the Food Service Department with additional duties as needed.

To be successful in this position, you should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in food services.
  • At least 3 years of food service leadership experience.

You will need a high school diploma or GED, and you must obtain a Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire to maintain current status thereafter. A CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) certification for Patient Services Lead role and culinary school experience for Retail/Sous Chef role are preferred.
