Prep Cook

Pay Rate: $17/hour

Shift: 30-39 hrs, varies depending on event schedule including Saturdays and Holidays.

Purpose: The purpose of a prep cook is to prepare the necessary items for the upcoming parties and work a team whose goal is to prepare and cook food for banquets.

Scope of: Major responsibilities include:

• Maintaining set pars of food quantity.
• Assuring that the quality of the food is up to the set standards.
• Personal workspace cleanliness and organization are a must in order to work this position at this level.
• Assuring that your co-workers are able to do the same by helping out and encouraging them.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain the quantity of the food based on set pars.
• Maintain the quality of the food based on set standards.
• Maintain a clean workstation.
• Stay busy at all times, help others or ask for additional tasks.
• Encourage co-workers to do the same.
• Realize the whole operation when completing individual tasks.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

Education: High School Student or Graduate. Willing to continue education of food while on the job.

Experience: Kitchen experience is essential. Previous line cook experience is a plus but not a must.

Skills:

• Must have good knife skills.
• Must have a good sense of timing.
• Must understand a variety of cooking techniques.
• Must be able to take assignments willingly.
• Must love food and feeding people.
• Must be able to lift heavy things.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
