Job Description

Seasonal Pastry Chef - This is a seasonal position ending after the 2024 holiday season.

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking a passionate and dedicated Seasonal Pastry Chef to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating a unique menu of over 40 fresh baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins, using honest, whole ingredients. You will be part of a team that values food quality, customer service, and community.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrating superior kitchen skills, including following recipes, paying close attention to detail, and creating unique pastries and baked goods.
  • Handling and working with heavy materials: Frequently lifting and mixing ingredients weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Adaptability and flexibility: Working with changing priorities and maintaining a focused approach to baking tasks.
  • Early morning availability: Starting shifts around 4:30 AM (and sometimes earlier).
  • Decorating pastries with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Adhering to food safety standards: Complying with local, state, and federal food handler and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a kitchen environment, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of pastry techniques.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability with the ability to adjust to changing schedules and responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations is a must.
  • Formal baking/pastry education is preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
