Job Description

Deer Valley Resort is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, in the historic mining town of Park City which has evolved into an exciting and diverse mountain ski town. The Silver Spoon Assistant Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Silver Spoon chef in providing a healthy, fresh selection of hot and cold food menu items to Deer Valley team members.

Responsibilities include:

  • Staying knowledgeable of current food trends and developing new menu items.
  • Operating the kitchen and directing the culinary team.
  • Maintaining consistency of product with great attention to food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Assisting in controlling food costs based on forecasting and efficient food production.
  • Carrying out administrative functions pertaining to forecasting, payroll, scheduling, and training.
  • Organizing an efficient flow of production and maintaining adequate staffing levels.
  • Setting up a control system through recipes to assure quality and consistency.
  • Maintaining safe and sanitary working conditions for employees.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and care is exhibited by all employees toward the operations and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the culinary industry and management required.
  • Must possess the knowledge and skills to create incredible tasting dishes.
  • Be familiar with international, domestic, and special diet cuisine preparation.
  • Must have a current Utah State food Handler's permit and/or a Serve Safe Certificate.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 40 lbs. and withstand frequent movements.
  • Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for food preparation.
  • Must be able to operate simple to complex kitchen equipment.

Pay: $26.00 per hour
