Sous Chef – North Italia (Riverton) – Opening Early 2025
North Italia is coming soon to Riverton, opening in early 2025! We're hiring immediately for a Sous Chef in Phoenix and Las Vegas. Competitive salary range: $65,000 - $75,000 per year.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Chef, this position plays a key role in leading a culinary team dedicated to crafting exceptional, from-scratch Italian dishes. We're seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to ensure exceptional quality, flavor, and a commitment to great hospitality, every time.
- Manage shifts effectively: Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, daily scheduling, and comprehensive planning for all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Maintain culinary excellence: Exhibit profound understanding of ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Drive financial success: Leverage experience to control costs of goods, identify opportunities to optimize profitability, and effectively manage the kitchen’s budget.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment: Ensure optimal kitchen cleanliness, equipment care, and organized workflow.
- Manage on-the-fly situations: Display poise and composure while handling unexpected requests and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Foster a culture of learning and growth: Encourage open communication, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Master labor management: Manage labor expectations and plan each shift with precision, including understanding of sales and labor budgets.
- Partner with management: Actively engage with the management team to effectively discuss and analyze profitability (P&L) reports.

Qualifications
- 2+ years of high-volume culinary management experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of business operations and financials.
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and inventory control systems. Prior experience with POSitouch and Crunchtime is a plus.
- Ability to work 10+ hour shifts, including standing, sitting, squatting, and walking for extended periods.
- Availability to work closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to grasp, reach, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Dexterity with kitchen machinery, knives, and other tools.
- Ability to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke/steam/heat, and confined spaces.
- Excellent hearing, visual, and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations; distinguish product quality, taste, texture, temperature, and presentation of food.
