About the Role

As a Head Chef, you will embody the Outbound brand as an authentic, approachable, adventure-curious, sociable, and savvy leader. You will build and lead a team that exemplifies our values of fostering human connection, providing unique experiences, appreciating life outside, working hard to achieve goals, while valuing good people, good food, and good music.

You'll be responsible for ensuring attentive, friendly, authentic, and efficient service in all culinary experiences at Outbound Stowe, including the East Side Bar & Bites, Grab & Go Mercantile, events, banquets, and exterior experience zones (pool, fire pits, and pop-up spaces). This includes maintaining adherence to budgeted payroll and overhead costs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Cooking all items according to recipe cards.
  • Verifying that use records are followed for all served items, ensuring food presentation is efficient and of high quality.
  • Monitoring the line setup before meal functions to optimize efficiency during meal periods.
  • Monitoring equipment maintenance and adhering to the "clean as you go" policy in the kitchen.
  • Assisting in cross-training and training new team members.
  • Assisting the Chef in maintaining quality standards and being visible on the front line.
  • Completing special projects and other assigned tasks.
  • Adhering to payroll policies, procedures, meal and rest periods, and Springboard Hospitality Rules of Conduct.
  • Demonstrating a working knowledge of all hotel safety and security procedures to ensure a secure and safe environment for team members and guests.
  • Adhering to all regulations and rules of conduct outlined in the associate handbook.

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Service-oriented with exceptional customer service and sales skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation
  • Food and Beverage experience in a Hotel or resort environment preferred
  • Certified in Food Handling and CPR preferred
  • Upholds the brand's authentic, approachable, adventure-curious, and sociable characteristics.
  • Ability to work weekend and evening shifts, including Fridays & Saturdays and during music series and events as needed.
