Reports To: Head Cook, Building Principal and Food Service Director

Job Goal: To prepare nutritious, great tasting meals (breakfast & lunch) for students and staff within the Child Nutrition guidelines of NSLP and maintain a clean/sanitary kitchen.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the District Head Cook and Food Service Director to ensure preparation of foods meets requirements.
• Manage lunchroom and kitchen in assigned building.
• Coordinate and supervise food production and kitchen staff within building.
• Inspect food for portion control, quality, taste, temperature and appearance.
• Train new staff within the kitchen.
• Prepare required food according to standard recipes, menus and instructions.
• Order food for kitchen site and maintain necessary supplies for 3 week cycle.
• Clean kitchen equipment and supervise this function.
• Maintain necessary supplies and goods for assigned meals.
• Maintain records, tally sheets for meals served and complete required reports as needed.
• Effectively utilize the online menu program.
• Monitor and adapt food served based on students with food allergies and coordinate with the school nurse.
• Operate cooking and kitchen equipment.
• Complete yearly inventory at the end of each school year.
• Other duties as assigned.

Terms Of Employment:

• Salary: Per 24-25 PSE Salary Schedule.
• Hours: 5 hours per day, 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
• Affiliation: PSE.
• Evaluation: Annually.

• 182 work days.
• Salary according to the 24-25 PSE Salary Schedule.
• 5 hours of work per day, from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Food Handlers Permit.
• Two years' experience in institutional cooking.
• Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and familiarity with Skyward.
• Knowledge of operating and cleaning kitchen equipment.
• Ability to multi-task and be flexible.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Fingerprinting and background check required.
