Job Description

The incumbent must have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and upon hire pass an 18-hour food managers safety course. Moderate physical effort is required in moving or lifting objects up to 50lbs. Heavy lifting is sometimes involved. The incumbent will be constantly standing, bending, stopping, and reaching. The incumbent is expected to work in hot, moderate to cold conditions. Flexible scheduling is a must.

Qualifications include the ability to follow recipes and combine ingredients for plain or fancy food dish items as well as specialty salads and other cooked dishes. Skill to perform tasks with several steps and use judgment in the performance of sequential tasks is required. Simple arithmetic and the ability to read instructions are required.

Working knowledge of common sanitation procedures to prevent cross contamination is necessary. The incumbent must know the operation of bake, holding ovens, and pizza makers. Additionally, the individual must be able to relate inventory levels to purchasing requirements and understand food storage and sanitation requirements. The ability to operate a cash register and have good verbal and written communication skills is essential. The incumbent must walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.

Some positions have special requirements. The selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm the selectee's eligibility to work in the United States. Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.

This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies within 60 days of issuance of the selection certificate. For positions requiring travel more than twice per year, the selectee may be required to obtain and maintain in good standing a Government-issued Travel Card for official government travel purposes.
