Job Description

We are seeking onsite temporary camp staff for the seasonal food service program at Camp Hamilton from June 19, 2025, to August 8, 2025. Each position employed with CYO Camps helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.

The essential purpose of this position is to coordinate the seasonal food service program. Responsibilities include:

  • Functioning as general all-around cook for all meals and special events.
  • Preparing and serving tasteful meals and snacks based on the provided menu in sufficient quantity, minimizing waste.
  • Supervising seasonal Kitchen Staff and any additional support staff involved in the food service program.
  • Receiving and storing food and cleaning supplies in accordance with local health standards.
  • Using appropriate kitchen equipment safely, following local health standards.
  • Cleaning and preparing food service areas for use, deep cleaning and prepping the kitchen for the off-season.
  • Ensuring Kitchen Staff operate the dishwasher while maintaining appropriate temperature and that they log the dishwasher temperatures.
  • Monitoring cleanliness of dishes, food contact surfaces, and kitchen area.
  • Logging fridge and freezer temperatures.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized camp environment, including performing regular cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.

The essential qualifications include:

  • A good example for youth in appearance, attitudes, as well as in moral, ethical, and spiritual behavior.
  • Education: HS Diploma or significant qualifying experience.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of CYO.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications.

Skills Required extracted by

  • Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church.
  • Experience in staff management.
  • Previous cooking and kitchen management experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in time constraints.
  • Current CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to lift/unload/move food and supplies.
  • Must be over 18 and able to work evenings and/or weekends.
