Line Cook (Kitchen Team Member)

Invitation: Love food? Love people? We're looking for someone who loves to cook up great-tasting, visually appealing dishes. As a Line Cook, you'll be responsible for your assigned prep work and cook's station, maintaining high standards for product presentation, quality, and timing.

  • You'll prepare all menu items according to our recipes and specifications.
  • As a member of the Kitchen Team, you'll be cross-trained in all kitchen roles.
  • Specific Functions and Duties:
    • Prepare menu items according to Applebee's Recipes, Plate Presentations, and specifications (50%).
    • Complete all assigned prep work (15%).
    • Set up workstation according to station diagram (15%).
    • Adhere to strict sanitary and safe food handling practices at all times (10%).
    • Thoroughly clean and sanitize the work area before, during, and after your shift (5%).
    • Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects (5%).

Qualification Standards:

  • A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to place plates, utensils, pans, and cases on high and low shelves.
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using knives, slicing equipment, and other food preparation tools.
  • Ability to maintain mobility throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to transport cases up to 50 pounds, approximately 20 times per day.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations to prevent harm to yourself and others.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular navigation throughout the restaurant and guest interaction.
  • Frequent handling of items up to 5 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of items up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent bending and stooping.
  • Sharp visual acuity for restaurant cleanliness and touchscreen operation.
