Executive Chef – Gravity Haus

Are you a passionate and experienced Executive Chef seeking to lead a high-performing culinary team in a vibrant, upscale environment? If so, Gravity Haus may be the perfect fit for you! As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the kitchen, from menu development to staff training, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and hospitality.

About the Role:

  • Lead the restaurant's culinary team, setting the standard for excellence in product and service.
  • Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including production, prep, special events, purchasing, and receiving.
  • Develop and implement menu changes, seasonal specials, and event menus in collaboration with the Director of Culinary.
  • Manage and mentor culinary and food & beverage staff, ensuring a thorough training process and providing consistent feedback on job performance.
  • Provide cross-training opportunities to team members, expanding their knowledge and skills across all kitchen stations.
  • Utilize your expertise to achieve financial goals by effectively managing labor costs, food costs, and other controllable expenses.
  • Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations and procedures, including proper temperature logging and product rotation.
  • Review financial information (sales, costs, labor) to maintain adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Manage inventory, including forecasting needs, placing orders, and verifying the accuracy of deliveries.
  • Champion the Gravity Haus brand, mission, and vision, building a community of modern adventurers.
  • Effectively handle on-the-fly requests, maintaining a calm and positive work environment under pressure.
  • Execute the Gravity Haus Culinary operations system, guaranteeing successful Back of Haus operations.

  • Ideally, possess a current, valid driver's license and the ability to operate various vehicles, including stick shift, snowcat, and snowmobile.

About You:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a luxury hotel or high-volume, upscale restaurant setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent industry experience.
  • Six (6+) years of progressive culinary experience, including supervision or management in a commercial kitchen setting.
  • Strong knowledge of all kitchen stations and demonstrated high-level competency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google applications, and Slack.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Deep understanding of ingredient knowledge and current culinary trends.
  • Demonstrated commitment to guest satisfaction and a "Do Whatever It Takes" attitude.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, creating a positive and productive team environment.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong working knowledge of proper inventory management and order guide processes.
  • Appreciation for the outdoors, sustainability, and personal growth.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of management experience preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation:

$100,000-$120,000 per year (depending on experience)
